Whew, can you believe it is Friday?! It seems like this week has been a COMPLETE whirlwind and all I can say is…TGIF! Ya feel me? I hope you are all as excited about the weekend as I am but first, I’m comin’ atcha with another edition of my Friday Favorites. I’d love to hear what you are loving this week so feel free to chime in in the comments!
At the top of the list this week is definitely the Cherry Blossoms. Spring is SUCH an incredible time of year and all of the beautiful flowers blooming around the city really do make me feel SO refreshed and energized. Prior to moving to DC I had never thought too much about seeing the National Cherry Blossom Festival but after experiencing it for myself, I have to say, it is A MUST SEE. There are trees all over the city blooming but the real treasure is down along the Tidal Basin which encompasses the Jefferson, Roosevelt and MLK Memorials. It is about a mile loop of absolute beauty. I made the mistake of venturing down in the middle of the day earlier in the week and it was a total cluster. This morning I met up with a friend for an early morning run to see them and it was PERFECT. The flowers are in peak bloom, the crowds were small and the sun was rising. It was breathtaking.
Okay, this has been on my list to listen to for WEEKS and while traveling last week, I finally had time on the plane to tune in and Nicole from Blissful Eats did not disappoint!! I am nearly caught up at this point and can honestly say, she has done such a fantastic job! Between the business tips and insight from successful food bloggers and small business owners, I am completely hooked and feel so grateful that Nicole has put together such an amazing resource for new entrepreneurs and bloggers. I am SO excited to keep listening!
If you follow me on Instagram, you saw me gush about my recent food delivery from 4P Foods. I love this company because they are sourcing local food from farmers who are practicing social and ecological responsibility. Living in the heart of the Nation’s capitol without a car makes it a little difficult to get out to the local farms to buy food, but 4P Foods is making it SO easy. Each week, they deliver a bag of fresh, seasonal produce (and this week protein!) right to my door! There customer service is superb and their drivers are super friendly. I <3 them. If you are local, I encourage you to check them out but no matter where you live, whether in a major metropolitan or the suburbs, I encourage you to shop local and support farmers who are supporting a better world!
Last week while I traveling, I breezed through Liane Moriarty’s What Alice Forgot and it was a TOTAL page turner! I seriously could not put it down! It is a kind a “fluff” type of book so if you’re into that type of thing (duh, I totally am!) it is a must. It is pretty thick but it definitely keeps you hooked, great for your upcoming vacation or Friday night in! I have also read The Husband’s Secret, another great light hearted, quick read, and will most definitely be read Big Little Lies next.
I JUST purchased Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and cannot wait to dive in! I have read so many amazing reviews of this book and can’t wait to share with you what I think.
